2-11 IPB Step 2

Narrator: The second step of the IPB determines how the battlespace environment affects neutral, enemy and friendly capabilities and operations. Analyze the existing and projected conditions of the battlespace environment, including the physical aspects of weather, terrain, and infrastructure; and the nonphysical aspects of population demographics and sociocultural systems, nodes and links. Combine the geospatial perspective of the operational environment with the sociocultural systems interaction and perspective, into an integrated product. Focus on the toal environment's effects on COAs available to both friendly and enemy forces to include any related diplomatic, informational, or economic options.
